Christmas Revision Course 2022
Christmas is an important time for families and we want our revision course to cause minimum problems for your holidays. This is why we are running each course on just one day. This enables you to fix your issues with a subject in one day and then return to your holidays the next day. Each course consists of four sessions during the day, each of duration 1 hr 15 mins. This means that you will receive a total of 5hrs expert tuition from John Winters. John has been teaching to the highest level for the past 30 years and has taught in excess of 200 revision courses of this type during his career.
Students will be given breaks for food between these sessions as described in the daily schedule.
Books of Notes
All students attending the courses will receive professionally bound books of notes containing countless examples of questions similar to those which appear on state exams. John Winters explains how to approach topics in a practical and simple way.
These books will serve as an excellent revision aide as students prepare for their exams in June. These books will be posted to students in advance of the course upon registration
Recordings of Classes
All of the classes are recorded and the recordings are available to students until the end of June 2023. The recordings are uploaded to our online classroom so that you can refer back to them at any time as you prepare for your exams. This resource will be of incredible assistance to you during the remainder of the year.
As you prepare for your mock examinations in Spring you will find the recordings an ideal reference when you feel that you need some help with a particular topic.
Leaving Certificate
Maths HL Paper ONE
Wed 28th December
The topics covered during this course will include
- Algebra
- Logs and Exponentials
- Differentiation
- Sequences & Series
Students will receive a professionally bound book of notes covering the topics above as well as many other areas of the course relevant to paper one.
Maths HL Paper TWO
Mon 2nd January
The topics covered during this course will include
- Coordinate Geometry of The Line and Circle
- Trigonometry
- Probability & Statistics
Students will receive a professionally bound book of notes covering the topics above as well as many other areas of the course relevant to paper two.
Physics LCHL
Friday 30th December
John Winters will explain in simple terms how to maximise your results in the Leaving Certificate exams. The topics included in the course will include
- Sound/Light and waves
- Heat
- Mechanics
- Electricity.
Students will receive a professionally bound book of notes covering the topics above as well as many other areas of the course relevant to exam paper in June.
Fifth Year Maths HL
Thursday 29th December
Many students struggle with the transition from Junior Cycle Maths to the Leaving Cert Maths syllabus. The aim of this revision course is to re-affirm the basic concepts required to proceed to your Leaving Cert year with confidence. The topics covered in the this course will included quadratic functions, cubic functions, the factor theorem, equations and inequalities involving fractions and surds as well as coordinate geometry of the line.
Junior Cycle Maths HL
Tuesday 3rd January
This course will show students how to approach the exams next June with confidence. The topics covered during the course will include algebra, coordinate geometry, financial maths, area & volume and trigonometry. John Winters will focus on exam technique and timing throughout the course. This means that students who attend the course will be extremely well versed in how to layout their exam.
